![]() It you're just starting out just get a $50 joystick? Go from there. I used a joystick for nearly 2 decades just fine, and only got the Saitek system because I wanted to make my home cockpit seem more real to me, I honestly don't think it matters - it's just what you like. That's when I first bought the Saitek yoke+throttles, & it literally had no effect on my training - I didn't go to a lesson and miss my yoke, or fly the foxbat in XP10 and think 'a yoke is so unrealistic in this scenario' - just having my set up at home made it feel more real to me. For example the plane I started flying on IRL was an A22 Foxbat with a Y-stick. ![]() It's not about what the plane in your sim uses in real life, it's about your own home experience. +1 I used a joystick from MSFS 98 up until about 2 years ago when I got the Saitek Pro system (well started collecting components. To add, if you are new to flight sims and might want to enter the combat side as well, I'd recommend the stick as it is a better platform to use in combat situations(Sticks are pretty much a general purpose input device). ![]() Though the stick is far more convenient when rearranging one's desk and in a more cramped desk. Though in my current living area my desk doesn't allow for me to mount it underneath and above the table is less comfortable to me. My personal preference for General Aviation and Commercial is my yoke as it is easier than the stick to fly by your fingertips(Precise with little effort for input of both the X and Y axis). The question to ask is what will be more comfortable for your body to use? A sidestick at waist level is just as comfortable as a yoke that is mounted under the table(I used some very strong velcro tape) to allow for relaxed flying. The yoke is not better than the stick and vice versa. Looking for the Best Joystick For X Plane makes you confused and tired Homechit experts rely on consumer reports on many famous social networks as well as real-life experiences about Best Joystick For X Plane to help you choose the most suitable product. Ive downloaded the XPlane profile for my X52 and was wondering do I still need to assign the buttons in the XPlane joystick settings I would be very interested also to know what XPlane profile that you have downloaded for your X52, as I have just bought one to use with X-Plane 10, which will be my first foray into PC flight sims. My current stick is the CH Fighterstick after abandoning my Saitek X-55 and X-52(Pretty much all Saitek products, other than the rudder pedals, yoke, and pro throttle quadrant I have been very disappointed with the other products I own from them. I've owned a few setups throughout the years including the Saitek Pro Yoke(Modded X axis) and it all comes down to personal preference.
